During the bidding phase of the programme PRP where the only supplier worldwide to put forward a cohesive solution to the requirements, indeed some of our competitors no-bid, stating it was impossible. In recognition of our capabilities, PRP were awarded the contract.
Development of the display required great attention to electronic and mechanical design details. The display system incorporates many novel features in both the hybrid construction and drive electronics. The LED display modules utilise both analogue and digital ASIC technology and advanced multi-level MCM-C construction.
PRP have recently been awarded the tranche 2 production order and have shipped in excess of 300 displays. During the development stages and flight trials of the Eurofighter, the Warnings Panel had the highest availability of all the cockpit displays. A great achievement given that the display is also the most technologically advanced LED display in the aircraft.
