Monolithic LED X-Y Matrix
The video shows a monolithic LED matrix operating in real time, the striations are due to variations in the refresh frequency of our video camera. The display matrix is configured as 16 rows of 90 pixels. Each pixel is approximately 90 microns square and pixels are on a 100 micron pitch The overall active display size is 9mm by 2mm. With the LED drivers incorporated in the same package the overall size of the complete display module is less than 25mm by 25mm by 5mm (depth).
The small size and high brightness of this display make it ideal for applications requiring a robust display capable of producing text or graphic icons that can be directly viewed or overlaid on a video image. These devices are excellent for applications such as thermal imagers, helmet mounted displays and sighting devices.
