PRP develops new 1200dpi monolithic LED chip

PRP completes development of new 1200dpi monolithic LED chip

PRP has completed the development of a new 1200dpi 650nm monolithic LED chip.

Each single LED chip contains 384 separate and individually addressable emitters.  With an emitting footprint of just 15 microns x 12 microns each emitter is separated on a 21.15 micron pitch.

The LED chips have been developed by PRP for use within print heads and the chip processing techniques can be applied to alternate wavelengths.

David Haskett, PRP’s Director of Sales stated “These state of the art monolithic chips have been developed over the past 2 years to enable high quality, high run rate printing.  We are excited about the current and potential future applications of this LED chip technology”.
